Q&A

How early can I have an MOT?

An MOT can be carried out up one month, minus a day, prior to the expiry date of your existing MOT certificate, whilst still preserving the anniversary of the expiry date. If you have your test carried out a month before the due date, your MOT is effectively valid for 13 months.

Do you do courtesy cars?

Yes we have a courtesy car available, contact us if you need it.

When can I drop the car off?

You can drop your car off anytime, but usually the earlier the better, especially for MOTs which we do first thing. This gives us time to assess what needs to be done and plan our day. We can then get back to you with estimates of costs and timescales to help you make your plans.

We have a secure key drop so you can drop your car off at the garage out of hours and leave the keys safely.

How much is a service?

The cost of a service depends on a few things, including: the type of service required, when it was last serviced, how much the vehicle is used and the make and model. Regular servicing and low annual mileage can reduce the costs of an annual service - as well as keeping your vehicle running smoothly throughout the year.

When you bring your car to us for a service we will assess what needs to be done and let you know how much it will cost before we carry out the work. You can then decide how to proceed.

What types of car do you service?

We service and repair all makes and models of vehicle including prestige brands such as Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Land Rover and Jaguar. This includes the latest models and classic cars.

By sticking to manufacturer service schedules and fitting approved parts your warranty will remain intact.

How long does an MOT usually take?

Most MOTs take about 60-90 minutes. Some customers like to wait while it's being done. You can wait in reception or wander into Lindfield for a coffee. If you prefer you can leave your vehicle with us in the morning and collect it later when it's ready.

What happens if my car fails its MOT?

We will let you know the result of your vehicle's MOT as soon as it's done. If it fails then we will let you know why and provide a quote for the parts and service to rectify the issues.

Do you fit tyres?

Yes we fit tyres, in house and are happy to offer advice to suit your requirements both in terms of tyre performance and budget.

What are your opening hours?

We are open at the following times.

Monday - Thursday - 8:00am - 6:30pm
Friday - 8:00am - 6:00pm
Saturday & Sunday - Closed

If you would like to drop your vehicle off outside these times then you can leave it outside and post your keys in our secure drop off box.

I need my car back by a certain time, is that ok?

If you're dropping your car off for an MOT, service or repair and you need it back by a certain time then let us know. We will try our best to get your vehicle ready when you need it. Sometimes however it's not possible, for example if your vehicle needs spare parts which aren't available immediately or if we're really busy. We will let you know as soon as we can the estimated timescales to help you make arrangements if you need to.

If you need your car for forthcoming trip then please make sure you don't leave it too late to book your MOT. In busy periods we may be booking a week or two in advance.

Do you service and repair electric or hybrid cars?

Yes. Although electric powered vehicles have much simpler motors than diesel or petrol cars there are still plenty of parts which need to be serviced to keep your vehicle working smoothly. Diagnostic checks to pick up any motor issues and servicing of tyres, brakes, cooling systems and other parts are all required.

Are you a member of any garage services associations?

We are proud members of the Independent Garage Association and the Trust My Garage scheme. Being a member of the latter means we abide by a strict code of conduct, work to the highest standards and will treat both you and your vehicle with the respect you deserve.

Being a member allows us to benefit from onsite training courses, MOT testing quality check programmes, and many other member-only schemes/assistance. Many of our Haywards Heath clients choose to use us due to these affiliations, which provide them with peace of mind, and once they've used us an MOT garage or for car repairs / car servicing once, we find they come back whenever they're in need of automotive expertise or garage services.

What areas do you cover?

As the name suggests we are based in Lindfield so are perfectly situated to provide car servicing, repairs, diagnostics and MOT testing services to clients in nearby Haywards Heath, Ardingly, Scaynes Hill, Cuckfield, Horsted Keynes and the local West Sussex area.
